The Brive Book Fair
The 2024 edition of the Book Fair is planned of the 8 10 2024 November. The 42st edition will be held partly on la Guierle (historical place) and the Space of the 3 Provinces.
The Book Fair: a gaillard and responsible event!
- The largest literature event outside French Metropolises allowing you to meet and have a chat with recognized authors.
- Open up to different subjects via conferences or discussions organized over the 3 days.
- Introduce children to the pleasure of reading through meetings organized with authors in schools.
- Bring the authors by train while enjoying a tasting of local products. The famous cholesterol train !
- Our advice: as the event is in the city center, leave the car at home and come by train, bus, or carpool!
Major literature event in France
Among our major events, the Brive Book Fair is the institution of the 100% gaillard fall. A literature event renowned as much for the diversity of the authors present as for its “gourmet” spirit, the Book Fair is coming to Brive-la-Gaillarde in Corrèze for a 100% literary moment of sharing!
Whether you're a book lover or an occasional reader, everyone will find what they're looking for among novels of all genres, comics, recipe books, children's books... From the most famous writers to novices, including local authors and people: it’s the meeting of all the artists! Both kids and adults are charmed by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Meeting with great French authors
Authors and publishers come together to present their works. They are happy to share their stories and their journey with you, but also to take photos or sign autographs...
One thing is certain: among the 300 authors present, numerous winners of prizes such as the Goncourt usually honor us with their presence.
The 2024 Book Fair will take place in 3 locations
The 42st edition of The Book Fair will take place in three different locations. The Halle Georges Brassens will welcome authors of general literature. The Espace des 3 Provinces will house children’s literature and comics. These two sites can be easily connected thanks to the greenway (approximately 6 minutes). The spaces will thus be more ventilated, meet health requirements and reduce queues.
Finally, several emblematic places in the city center: the library which will host a major exhibition and meetings, the Openwork, lauditorium and also the Labenche Museum.

- Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 20 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 9 a.m. to 20 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and 9 a.m. to 18 p.m. on Sunday, November 10
- Parking: for the occasion, the underground car park of La Guierle will be free on Saturday and on Sunday.
Our tip Culture feast
Literature lover, at the Brive Book Fair, you will quench your thirst for culture. In the George Brassens hall, usually reserved for market stalls, the best authors of the literary season will meet at the beginning of November to share their most beautiful prose. At the rhythm of the free meetings, we pick up a little comic book, a hint of children's book or a zest of local production. Once the day is over, the authors all meet at Cardi, a “night club” with a unique atmosphere.
