The 2024 edition
In 2024, it's Alain Breton who is rewarded for his collection I will not return the fire published by Les Hommes sans Épaules.
The award will be presented at the 42nd edition of the Brive Book Fair, on November 9 at the Ouvroir.

A prize to reward poets
Among the literary competitions, the Grand Prix de l'Académie Mallarmé, named after its founder Stéphane Mallarmé, has been awarded by its Academy since 1937. The Academy is composed of writers and poets, but since 1976 the competition has rewarded more the most prestigious poets in France. In order to be eligible for this prize, the poet must be published and edited within the year and be French-speaking.

Thus, the city of Brive-la-Gaillarde financially rewards its winner:
- €1 for the winner during the awards ceremony during the Book Fair.
- €1 to finance a month of writing residency in Brive.
