It is at the Book Fair that the City of Brive readers' prize will be awarded.

The 2024 winner

After Adèle Bréau, winner in 2023 for her novel women's hour published by JC Lattès, it is the turn of Marion Brunet to be rewarded with "Our weapons" at Albin Michel.

Marion Brunet was already awarded the Youth Literature Prize in Brive in 2013 for her first novel Sister (Blowpipe).

In Nos armes published by Albin Michel, Marion Brunet explores the broken destiny of two young women in search of love and justice. The twenty members of the jury aged 24 to 74 who applied to the Brive media library were touched and captivated by this prison story and the flashes of brilliance that inhabit it from start to finish.

Her prize will be awarded to her at the Book Fair from November 8 to 10. In Brive, Marion Brunet will be signing copies of Nos armes at the Brassens hall as well as Ilos (Pocket jeunesse) at the Espace des Trois provinces.

100% Cheerful Readers

The City of Brive Readers' Prize is the literary award, a real favorite of the Gaillards.

Ten works are in competition to win this recognition which aims to highlight a French novel of the literary year. This competition is organized by the media library of the city of Brive and the jury is made up of volunteer readers who have read all the works and who participated in all the deliberations. The selection of works is carried out in advance by a panel of librarians and avid readers from the 100% Gaillarde destination.
