A 100% Happy Dry January!

When diet rhymes with terroir!

After the festive feasts, the Dry january is the perfect opportunity to give our liver a well-deserved vacation. Goodbye, bubbles and spirits, make way for joyful sobriety and healthy little pleasures. But be careful, here, in Corrèze and more particularly in Brive-La-Gaillarde, we don't do things by halves, and especially there is no question of depriving ourselves of what makes our land so rich!

Apple Juice: The Perfect Dry January Drink

Why settle for plain water when you can treat yourself to a good one? 100% Corrèze apple juice ? Cold-pressed, artisanal, and above all bursting with sunshine, it is a hit in non-alcoholic aperitifs. With local varieties such as Balladurette, Sainte Germaine or Golden du Limousin, your taste buds will travel to the heart of our orchards. And the cherry on the cake (or apple, should we say), it is full of vitamins and antioxidants to start the year off right.

Discover the apple juices from our local producers:

  • Lou Father Benoit: Benoît Berthy took over his grandparents' land in Objat to retrain in old apples. Around twenty local varieties are being converted to organic farming. You can buy his products at his stand in the Gaillard Hall.
  • The Press of the Manoir St Bazile : this artisanal and agricultural activity of apple juice production and viticulture is also fully certified ORGANIC. To be found in St-Bazile-de-Meyssac.
  • Famille Teulet organic store : The Teulet family is a family of fruit growers. It produces organic apples, including the famous Golden Delicious apples from Limousin. In the shop in St-Yrieix-La-Perche, fresh fruit and derivative products (fruit juices, ciders, fruit purees, honey, jams, etc.) are sold.
  • The Janty Cider House : The cider house has existed since 1920 and produces apple-derived products: dry, semi-dry or sweet cider, apple juice, sparkling wine, etc. Direct sales at the press in Condat-sur-Ganaveix, by appointment or on sale in stores.

But don't forget our little dishes that stick to your ribs!

Dry January is no excuse to skip our culinary classics. Imagine a beautiful plate of mique and small salted, a dish that warms the heart and legs after a winter hike. Or even a calf's head, drizzled with ravigote sauce (yes, even without wine, it's allowed). All accompanied by a glass of sparkling apple juice for a festive touch. You see, we can be reasonable without giving up pleasure!
