From October 24 to 26, the Brive Agglomeration hosted a large-scale sporting event at Lac du Causse: the third edition of the Gravel Test Tour coupled with the first Camp Adventure, organized by CHLOROBIKE. This event was held on the magnificent site of Lac du Causse, offering an exceptional natural setting to discover the region's Gravel trails, and allowed participants to immerse themselves in a unique experience of discovering the territory.
In total, 60 testers answered the call to come and venture onto the trails specially marked out for the occasion.
Two courses, from 61 km et 33 km, had been developed by Pierre-Jean Manet and the team of MTB Adventure Causse Vézère, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the region's terrain while discovering the capabilities of Gravel bikes provided by renowned brands.
Participants were able to test models of:
with also innovative equipment and accessories such as UDOG shoes, RAVEMEN lamps, MEKONG boats, or even CAMPAGNOLO transmissions and FULCRUM wheels.
The event also marked an important step in the Brive Agglomeration's approach to obtaining the Gravel label by 2025.
The presence of Baptiste Dupuy from the French Cycling Federation (FFC), responsible for the Gravel label, gave additional impetus to this ambition. This label would strengthen the attractiveness of the region for Gravel and outdoor sports enthusiasts, by positioning Brive as a destination of choice for these activities.
Stephane Goyard, creator of the channel YouTube Gravel and Bike, was also present, adding media coverage to the event and reinforcing the interest of Gravel enthusiasts in this initiative.
This event is part of a broader project to structure and promote outdoor activities in the Brive metropolitan area.
After developing MTB bases at Causse and Saillant , set up a hiking diagram around 11 loops linking the 48 municipalities of the agglomeration and inaugurated a trail station in 2024 (two bases with 23 courses), Brive is now turning towards the development of gravel
The Gravel Test Tour edition #3 and the 1st Camp Adventure have therefore not only allowed participants to discover Gravel courses and quality bike brands, but also to confirm the commitment of the Brive Agglomeration to the development of outdoor sports. On the road to 2025 to make Brive a reference center for Gravel and outdoor cycling!
