The inauguration of the Brive trail station: between Causse and Vézère!

On Saturday June 22, 2024, from 9:15 a.m., we inaugurate the Brive trail station : between Causse and Vézère at the nautical base of Lake Causse. With the participation of Clementine Geoffray, reigning world champion and Philippe Propage, former coach of the French trail team, the day promises to be rich in practice, wise advice and exceptional exchanges!
For several years now, the Brive metropolitan area has been working to make this area a land of natural sports. The 2 FFV-certified stations du Causse et of the Salient initiated this momentum in the service of a practice that has become essential in recent years: the trail.
After several months of project monitoring, route marking and work on referencing on the On Piste application, It is now time to inaugurate our 2 trail stations on one of them (at the Causse), next Saturday June 22!
Today's program
- 9:15 a.m.: welcome coffee
- 9:45 a.m.: departure on route n°8 with Clémentine Geoffray
- 12:30 p.m.: aperitif and meal at the nautical base
- 14:00 p.m.: official inauguration of the trail station: ribbon cutting in the presence of the Mayor of Brive la Gaillarde: Frédéric Soulier and the President of Brive Tourisme, Yves Gary.
- 15:00 p.m.: conference led by Philippe Propage: “Training planning”.
- 16:30 p.m.-17:30 p.m.: questions/answers with Philippe Propage.

Practical information
- The nautical base of Lake Causse is located at Port de Lissac, 19600 Lissac sur Couze.
- Elle dispose d'un large car park with the possibility of parking buses and shuttles.
- The blue course n°8 is 15.10 km distance, D+ 405 m - D-408 m. It is of medium difficulty.
- You will have the possibility to shower on site from 11:15 a.m., directly at the nautical base or at the Causse lake campsite (a few meters from the nautical base).
- The meal is at 10 € / person and includes: a pasta dish with sauce of your choice, dessert and still water. You can pay directly on site.

3 renowned guests for the inauguration
To inaugurate the station Brive: between Causse and Vézère, 2 champions do us the honor of being present:
- Clémentine Geoffray: Reigning world champion and victorious in the 2023 Skyrunner World Series which will test one of the trail station courses referenced in Causse.
- Philippe Propage: Team Manager of the Kiprun Women team and former coach of the French trail team. He will host a talk on training planning starting at 15:00 p.m.
- Thierry Breuil: trail champion and 100% Gaillard ambassador.
