Reading nights in Corrèze

The media libraries of Brive-La-Gaillarde, Objat and Varetz are participating in these Reading Nights. 23 at 25 January 2025 which has this year's theme heritage.

This is the fourth edition offered by the National Book Center. One thing is certain: young audiences, teenagers and families are expected in the media libraries and will spend moments rich in emotions!

Reading Nights in Brive-La-Gaillarde: 

  • Friday January 24, 2025: Murder Party at the City Center Media Library from 19:20 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. Its theme: but who killed an American treasure hunter? Participants who can come in disguise and equipped with a pen and a flashlight, will have "one hour to go and question the seven suspects, find the murder weapon and the scene of the murder. In addition, a games evening, with the games library will be organized from 21:30 p.m. to 05:55 p.m. By reservation only at 18 17 50 XNUMX XNUMX.
  • Saturday January 25, 2025:
    - Songwriting workshop for children, with the group Du vent dans les bronches (from 6 years old by registration), will launch the day from 14:30 p.m. to 17 p.m. "One of the songs written during the workshop will be sung at the opening of the concert in the evening, at 20 p.m. At the Media Library in the city center.
    - Cyrano literary game and readings on the theme of Heritage from 17 p.m. to 21 p.m.
    - Pyjama Party from 18pm to 19pm. Come in your pyjamas with your cuddly toy to listen to lovely, sweet stories on the theme of heritage. Free entry for ages 3 and up. 
    - Games based on the sounds of musical extracts and songs from 19 p.m. to 20 p.m. with a challenge for the team that answers the least well
    - Concert for young audiences (from 2 years old) from 20 p.m. to 21 p.m. with the group "Du vent dans les bronchi" (by registration only - limited to 100 people maximum).

Reading nights in Objat

Thursday January 23

  • The Objatois heritage. Based on aerial photos from the 50s of our city of OBJAT, the middle school students will be offered the game "Discover the history of your city". Sites will be located (after drawing lots) on the photos and once found, a speaker will explain the history of the site in question. A multitude of documents and photos on our city will be exhibited for the occasion. An evening rich in discovery for the young people of the middle school. At the College from 18:30 p.m. to 20:30 p.m.

Friday January 24

  • Youth author animation. Reading of stories, poems and singing of nursery rhymes on the theme of the culinary heritage of "our cultures". Interpretation and animation by Sandrine MAGE, author and poet... From 21 p.m. to 22 p.m. at the Objat Congress Hall.
  • Danced musical heritage: animation by 4 classes from the elementary school: traditional dances and reading of stories with explanations on the origin of these stories. Skit on the theme of musical heritage, performed by 7 teenagers from the Saint-Aulaire theater troupe. At the Salle des Congrès from 19:30 p.m. to 21 p.m.
  • Play: Sketch on the theme of musical heritage, proposed by 7 young teenagers from the troupe of the "Foyer rural de Saint-Aulaire". From 19:30 p.m. to 19:45 p.m. at the Objat Congress Hall.

Saturday, January 25

  • Meditative reading to the sound of the Tibetan bowl. Meditative reading workshop to the sound of the Tibetan bowl led by Cécile Silver and François Gruffat: readings aloud of poems and extracts from novels. Readings punctuated by the sounds of various musical instruments. Participants relax and nourish themselves with our rich literary heritage. From 16 p.m. to 17:30 p.m. at the Objat Media Library.
  • Conference on the theme of heritage: Conference on the theme of heritage led by Louis-Olivier Vitté (author) in the presence of 6 other authors: Régine Rossi-LAGORCE (The "culinary matrimony"), Jean-Michel Valade (Artistic heritage among others.), Jean-Marc Plantade (safeguarding a heritage, the vine), Jean-Paul ABADIE (Authors of the association of peasant artists and writers), Jean-Claude Chataur (natural heritage) and Jean-Paul Malaval (family heritage...); without forgetting the literary heritage which will hold a large place in this evening! At the Objat Media Library from 20 p.m. to 21:30 p.m.
  • Meetings and dedications with the authors : Meetings and signings with local authors after their conference on heritage: Jean-Paul Malaval, Louis-Olivier Vitté, Régine Rossi-Lagorce, Jean-Michel Valade, Jean-Marc Plantade, Jean-Paul Abadie and Jean-Claude Chataur. At the Objat Media Library from 21:30 p.m. to 22 p.m.

Reading night in Varetz

  • Friday January 24, 2025 : The Varetz media library invites you to a sleepover from 20h to 22h.
    The Varetz media library invites you to a warm moment as part of the Nuits de la lecture, on the theme of heritage. Come in your pajamas with your cuddly toys for a friendly pajama party where young and old will dive into the world of traditional tales, some of which will be told in Occitan. This evening accessible from 3 years old will be hosted by the volunteers of the media library who will take you on a journey through the stories. A moment of discovery and sharing not to be missed!
