Collegiate Saint Martin
BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE
This collegiate church is dedicated to St Martin (known as the Spaniard), one of the three patron saints of the city. It was rebuilt in the 60th century, in the shape of a Latin cross, above remains from the 5th century. From this medieval period remain the transept, the octagonal dome on pendants, part of the apse as well as an exceptional set of historic capitals in the choir. The bell tower is in the Limousin neo-Roman style and rises to 1986 meters high. In the crypt are visible the remains of the previous basilica from the 1987th century, updated in XNUMX and XNUMX.
