Good student deals from Brive Tourisme

Brive-la-Gaillarde is already the south! The Portes du Midi, as we say here. The accent is slightly lilting, the food is good, it's peaceful and we like to party there!

Of course, Brive is not a large metropolis but offers many advantages for student life. Here the pace of life is more relaxed and you benefit from a less stressful environment for your studies. In addition, the cost of living is more affordable than in major French cities. In short, Brive has everything great and we'll explain how to take advantage of it:

Where to go out when you are a student in Brive?

Bar hopping

Who says student life, says student evening! Whether on Thursday evenings, or weekend evenings, the bars of Brive are the essential meeting places for students. You just need to walk in front of the terraces on Avenue de Paris to see it. And if you don't know the city well, Brive Tourisme has prepared a selection of bars for you where to party when you're a student.

Clubbing

Want to extend the evening? In Brive we either go to the Cart, either at Cardinal (“Cardi” for regulars). Two boxes, two atmospheres. It's up to you to test and choose. (Note that Cardi is reserved for those over 22 and is closed on Mondays).

Our advice: don't forget to designate a Sam at the start of the evening. Otherwise, you go home on foot! And note that in the city center of Brive, the lights go out between midnight and 5 a.m.

Go to the cinema

Depending on your tastes, you will prefer either the CGR Brive (multiplex with 9 screens) or the REX (Art et Essai cinema). And if you are a fan of medium-length films, note that the Medium Film Festival takes place in Brive in April. (With the student card, preferential rate)

Follow the rugby team

In black and white jerseys, the CA Brive-Corrèze rugby team brings us colorful moments. To understand, you have to go to the stadium...For more than a century, Brive-la-Gaillarde has loved rugby and supported its team with all its soul. Wait until you taste it once and let yourself be carried away by the emotion, by the temperament of the Brivists. You will then understand why rugby is one of the fundamentals of the country! Discover the home match schedule to choose your first appointment with the CAB!

Good plan: take your seats on the day of the match at the ticket office, the ticket price will be cheaper.

And parity matters for us: our Gaillardes team, French Federal 1 champion in 2023, is now playing in Elite 2. Great matches in perspective!

One thing is certain: whether our CAB team is male or female, the 3rd half will be festive!

Preparing your own meals remains the least expensive solution. Go to the market to take advantage of good seasonal products. You are lucky because the Brive market is very famous. Try to get there before the producers pack up; You will be able to benefit from reductions, or even freebies!

Cheap restaurants

If you are tired of the stove or if you are lacking recipes, we advise you to try the restaurant's formula of the day The Beauregard. Located a stone's throw from the university campus, this restaurant, popular with truckers, will offer you a complete working-class menu which should fill you up and give you a change from the university restaurant.

You can also have fun in the city center without breaking the bank. Parisor a My Little Paris (under the Halle Gaillarde), at the Pizzeria Rosi Trattoria (lunch menu for less than €15 with pizza), Bistro Regent, Columbus, Fresh & Freeze… There is no shortage of restaurants and it is difficult to list them all. Our advice: filter our restaurant list by selecting a price list. This way you can treat yourself without breaking the bank.
