Other routes suitable for trail running
The Brive trail station, between Causse and Vézère lists 23 trail circuits. The landscapes of our hilly countryside are ideal for trail running and other routes can be considered, particularly in Yssandonnais.
Nicolas, super sports educator of the Leisure Sports Base of Vézère, invites you to run on hiking trails that he has tested himself. He classified them according to difficulty.
Easy circuits for the “rookies”:
- Hiking trail of the Coteaux in Ayen : 8km
- The Brignac-La-Plaine Forest: 8km and 218 meters of elevation gain.
Circuits of medium difficulty:
- Hike from the two villages to Ayen: 14 km and 323 meters of elevation gain. Warning: a lot of road on the second part.
- The Coteaux of Brignac-La-Plaine : 12 km and 255 meters of elevation gain.
- Planchetorte - Chèvrecujols to Brive : 6km and 306 meters of elevation gain.
- Causse and Valley in Chartrier-Ferrière: 22 km and 385 meters of elevation gain. Caution: in very slippery rainy weather.
- From la Lune to the Tunnel in Jugeals-Nazareth : 11km and 274 meters of elevation gain.
- Coteaux de Vertougit in Voutezac : 11km and 293 meters of elevation gain. Please note: the markings are yellow for all circuits which leave from the same place
Difficult circuits for the most gaillards
- The 3 Villages of the Causse in Chasteaux : 14km and 416 meters of elevation gain. Be careful, very slippery with rainy weather.
- Les Deux Maumonts in Donzenac : 12km and 447 meters of elevation gain. Ideal route for hiking and running with sticks.
- The Valleys in Estivaux : 11,5 km and 433 meters of elevation gain.
- The Coteaux du Lac du Causse in Lissac : 17 km and 370 meters of elevation gain.
