In 2023, it's Beatrice Bonhomme who was awarded this award with her collection World, crowned knees published by Collodion.

The award will be presented during the 41st edition of the Brive Book Fair, from November 10 to 12.

A prize to reward poets

Among the literary competitions, the Grand Prix de l'Académie Mallarmé, named after its founder Stéphane Mallarmé, has been awarded by its Academy since 1937. This is made up of writers and poets but the competition rewards more, since 1976, the most prestigious poets in France. In order to be eligible for this prize, the poet must be edited and published within the year and be French-speaking.

Thus, the city of Brive-la-Gaillarde financially rewards its winner:

  • €1 for the winner during the awards ceremony during the Book Fair.
  • €1 to finance a month of writing residency in Brive.
