Brive, natural cinema setting!

On April 12, 2021, moviegoers will discover the Pays de Brive from an unexpected angle, on the occasion of the release of the film Merrick on VOD platforms.

Brive in post-apocalyptic mode

A true natural setting (and sometimes unrecognizable!), Brive and its surroundings served as the setting for the film, whose story takes place in 2027, in a post-apocalyptic world. They inspired director Benjamin Diouris, a lover of the region, who wanted to set his camera there for his first feature film. He is accompanied in this adventure by the actor and producer Briviste, Mickaël Etrillard, who also plays the title role.

The Causse in the spotlight

We will thus discover the village of Chasteaux or the Causse lake (where the team also stayed) which served as a theater for the adventures of Merrick during the four weeks of filming.

A film that arouses the interest of festivals

Furthermore, the film - which was initially planned for release on the big screen - was selected several times, including the Champs-Elysées Film Festival as well as the FIFIB (Festival International du Film Indépendant de Bordeaux).

Ultimately, it will be broadcast from April 12, 2021 on the main VOD platforms: Canal VOD, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Microsoft, Orange.

The Pays de Brive on the big and small screen

This is an additional source of pride for the inhabitants of the region, who have already been accustomed for several years to regularly finding the landscapes or streets of Brive in different film productions, whether on the big or small screen (Presidents in 2020 with Jean Dujardin, Captain Marleau in 2020, Murders in Corrèze in 2019…. )
