The Labenche Museum takes up residence at the Lighthouse

Visit a museum without setting foot there?

This is what the Labenche Museum offers you while it is closed.

The art and history museum of the city of Brive does not remain inactive during the work. Indeed, it invites you to discover its collections, through activities and exhibitions in various places in the city.

For the summer season, the Labenche Museum takes up residence at the lighthouse. The walls of this emblematic monument of Brive will serve as a setting for an exhibition.

This is the opportunity to rediscover Brive and the riches of its museum, through 15 reproductions of works (posters, oils, watercolors, etc.).

Once you come down from the lighthouse, play the game and try to find the location of the shots before posting them on the museum's Instagram! Maybe you will be rewarded!

The Labenche Museum

Founded in 1878 by the Scientific, Historical and Archaeological Society of Corrèze.

The diverse interests of its founders make it a multidisciplinary place which is still visible in the variety of current collections.

Having become a municipal museum in 1883, it was installed in the Renaissance hotel of Labenche, which gave it its current name, in 1989.

Holder of the designation Museum of France since 2002, it presents the history of Brive and its region from its origins until the middle of the 20th century.
