Installed in an exceptional Renaissance mansion (classified MH) and spread over 17 rooms, the collections of the Labenche Museum bear witness to the historical, archaeological and heritage richness of the city of Brive and its region. This establishment, holder of the “Museum of France” designation, notably exhibits a remarkable collection of tapestries from the Mortlake and Aubusson factories as well as the piano that belonged to the famous composer Claude Debussy. It also has a rich collection for Prehistory. The museum also organizes numerous temporary exhibitions and events on various themes throughout the year and participates every year in national cultural events (European Museum Night, National Archeology Days, European Heritage Days, National Days of architecture).
