Our department is a land of mushrooms… Corrèze porcini mushroomsfresh truffes, chanterelles, shiitake you will inevitably find what you are looking for as long as you are patient and attentive! As you can imagine, we cannot give you the mushroom spots, these places are secret and you have to discover them by exploring our woods. On the other hand, we can remind you of certain regulations of the forest code. 

Regulations of the forest code: 

  1. Authorization from the owner of the wood is necessary (95% of the forest is private in Corrèze): “The natural or industrial fruits of the land belong to the owner by right of accession” according to the law. The latter does not need to put up a “no picking” sign to be within his rights.
  2.  “Collecting mushrooms on private property without authorization is punishable by a fine for 4th class infractions. Beyond ten liters for mushrooms other than truffles, it is considered theft and punishable by three years' imprisonment and a fine of €45.000.
  3.  Collection is tolerated but limited in public forests: reserved for residents of the municipality for communal woods, and possible in state forests provided that it remains within the framework of family consumption (do not exceed five liters) . Excessive picking can result in heavy penalties: it is an offense punishable by a fine of €135 between 5 and 10 liters; and three years' imprisonment and a fine of €45.000, over 10 liters. This tolerance does not apply to truffles.
