French tradition dictates that we eat delicious donuts during Carnival and Mardi Gras. And in happy land, we love traditions!

There are a thousand and one donut recipes depending on the region. But only one thing in common, they are all fried in oil! And since our little guys are on vacation, why not put them in the kitchen? 

Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 25g sugar
  • ½ sachet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ sachet of yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon of rum or other alcohol
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Frying oil
  • Powdered or icing sugar for dressing
  • Preparation time : 70 mins
  • Cooking time : 10 mins
  • To 6 people

Prep time

  • In a salad bowl, mix the flour, salt, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, yeast and salt.
  • Then add the egg, the crème fraîche, the just melted butter, the alcohol.
  • Knead until a malleable, soft and non-sticky dough forms.
  • Let it rest for about 1 hour before rolling it out and then cutting it into the chosen shape.
  • Heat the frying oil.
  • Dip them until they turn golden brown.
  • Sprinkle them with sugar and enjoy. Hot is even better!
