Related to clafouti, the recipe for flognarde or flaugnarde (both spellings are possible) is decorated with apples and even better with AOP Limousin apples. But other seasonal fruits can also do the trick, pears, grapes, strawberries…

Ingredients

  • 60g of flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 75cl of lukewarm milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 300g “pippin” apples
  • 50g of butter
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • Sucre glace
  • Salt
  • Preparation time : 30 mins
  • Cooking time : 20 mins
Flognarde Aux Pommes

Prep time

  • Pour the flour, sugar and salt into a bowl. Add the eggs one by one, mixing carefully with a wooden spoon to avoid lumps.
  • Mix little by little with the milk.
  • Generously butter an earthenware dish.
  • Peel and thinly slice the apples.
  • Arrange them in the dish.
  • Sprinkle them with vanilla sugar and sprinkle them with small flakes of butter. Pour the batter on top. Cook for 30 minutes in the preheated oven on th.7 to 8 or 220°.
  • Serve warm, powdered with icing sugar
