An AOP for Corrèze wines

The Corrèze vineyard (1001 stones, Straw Wine, Vézère hillsides) now benefits from European recognition.

The AOP Corrèze thus becomes the 3.500 geographical indication recognized at the European level and the 756 at the French level.

What is an AOP?

The AOP was created in 1992 and assures the consumer that all stages of production have been carried out according to recognized know-how in a very specific geographical area, giving it its characteristics. This sign thus protects the name of the product throughout the European Union. 

What labels for the Corrèze vineyard?

The renaissance of Corrézien wines that began at the end of the 20th century with the wines of Branceilles and those of Saillant is thus recognized at the European level. 

  • Between 2009 and 2017, a PGI (protected geographical indication) characterized these wines, which can be still (non-sparkling), sparkling or straw (wine of straw is a sweet wine)
  • 3th May 2017 : obtaining theAOC for Corrèze wines
  • 22th February 2023 : AOP validated at European level.
