How about a little freshness? Nothing better than red fruits for that! Several farms in our region produce strawberries and/or raspberries.

We are a major producer of raspberries and strawberries... moreover, a significant part of the harvest is processed by companies that supply renowned restaurateurs and processors around the world. This is the case for the Ponthier and Valade companies, for example, which produce coulis and fruit purees. You probably know Andros and its famous jams and compotes. 

Raspberries from A to Z

Whether yellow, white, wild or red as usual, raspberries are simply delicious. It is found on a raspberry bush and is harvested during the summer period.
It should be fragrant, shiny and firm. This delicate little fruit is particularly interesting for our line since its caloric intake is moderate. Its benefits are numerous: very good source of vitamin C, folic acid, iron and potassium. Raspberries are also rich in bioflavonoids which may help prevent cancer.

You can enjoy your freshly picked raspberries, in fruit salad, in charlotte... The recipe possibilities are unlimited!

If you want to experience a real moment of sharing and conviviality, go to the Concèze Raspberry Festival which takes place at the beginning of July. You will be able to buy a slice of the largest raspberry tart listed in the Guinness World Records (8,04 m² surface area and 187 kg).

Do you prefer the sweetness of strawberries?

Thanks to the 30 strawberry producers established in the region, you will be able to enjoy yourself! The Gariguette and Mara des Bois varieties represent the majority of production. If we had to tell you about a particular city it would undoubtedly be Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. An emblematic production, Beaulieu welcomes thousands of visitors during the month of May for the strawberry festival. As with raspberries, strawberries are one of the lowest-calorie fruits. It is also very rich in vitamin C.

Want strawberries? Above all, don’t deprive yourself! It can be eaten in all sauces, in pastries, in tarts, in jam, in sweet but also savory salads and even as an aperitif. A little strawberry mojito will delight your guests or simply your palate!
