Markets throughout the week

Some people only swear by sleeping in during the weekend or even having a sports session when it is so pleasant to go to the market. A major meeting place, the market is an opportunity to stock up on vitamins and eat mainly locally. In Gaillard land, we find them almost every day, so on your marks, ready? Raise your baskets!

Going to the market: gaillard and responsible activity!

  1. Consuming local products is the guarantee of having fresh food and reducing your carbon footprint.
  2. Buying seasonal products: each season has its stars and its star vegetables. And here it's a festival: ceps, truffles, walnuts, apples, raspberries, strawberries....
  3. Meeting and discussing with producers in a friendly atmosphere! We don't just fill our shopping bags, we get some tips and recipe ideas.
  4. The market is the fair price for both the consumer (short circuit) and the producer.

Regular weekly markets in Corrèze

Tuesday : we start the week on Tuesday morning, with the markets of Brive as well as Cublac

  • In Brive, under the Brassens Hall, you will find a very pretty market with a large number of producers from the region and neighboring places.
  • There are also a few food traders in front of the Gaillard Hall (cheese maker, early vegetables).
  • In Cublac, 20 minutes from Brive in the direction of Terrasson, a small, more intimate market is held on the church square. There is a butcher, a fishmonger, a market gardener, a delicatessen, a cheese maker, a duck/goose seller, a rotisserie/caterer, a brasserie; without forgetting all your local shops (bakery, grocery store, newspapers, bar-restaurant, pizzeria).

Wednesday, let's go to Larche, 15 minutes from Brive.

Here, the market is held at Place Jaubertie at an unusual time for a market, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m.! ideal for housewives (and housekeepers), working people who can come and do their shopping at the end of the day: greengrocers, butchers, cheesemongers... everything is there.

Thursday morning we come back to Brive

Return to Brive for its second market of the week (under the Brassens Hall). Less substantial but still just as enjoyable! Enough to stock up on energy and vitamins.

Friday morning, let's go to Allassac, northwest of Brive.

Fairs and markets take place on Place de la République and Place Allègre on the 1st and 3rd Fridays (markets) and 2nd, 4th and 5th Friday of the month (fairs). There are many street vendors as well as local producers.

Saturday morning: you have to go to Brive and Perpezac-Le-Blanc!

  • Brive-La-Gaillarde :
The unmissable, the gourmet, the festive, the imposing market crooned by Georges Brassens. The entire Place de la Guierle in Brive is full of street sellers, producers with stalls full of colors that change with the seasons: autumn mushrooms competing with summer red fruits...
    - In winter, let's enjoy Foires aux Gras and all its string of poultry celebrations, fresh truffes … a delight for the eyes and taste buds!
    - In front of the Gaillard Hall, a very pretty colorful market completes the offer.
  • Perpezac-Le-Blanc: meet every 2nd and 9th Saturday of the month in front of the church, from 12 to XNUMX a.m. , to stock up on good local products!

The Objat market

Objat, it is the city in the countryside, a market which attracts nearly 10 000 consumers every Sunday. Site remark of taste, the Objat basin is full of local products that make it a territory of excellence: apples, nuts, veal raised under the mother, truffles...

The Objat market is renowned for its diversity and wealth of local and regional products. There are numerous stalls offering fresh fruit and vegetables, regional cheeses, cold meats, local wines, ready meals, flowers, clothing and accessories, artisanal products, and many other things. And that's without mentioning the many stores which are also all open on Sunday morning!

In addition to the offer of local products, the Objat market is also a friendly meeting and exchange place for city residents and visitors. The numerous café terraces are taken by assault! In summer, we often come across musicians, artists and artisans, who add a touch of creativity and dynamism to the already lively atmosphere of the market.

Overall, the Objat market is a must-see destination for those who want to discover the flavors and traditions of Corrèze, as well as for those who love shopping and a friendly atmosphere.

Plump fruits grown with care, green vegetables and various organic products will catch your eye.... It's every Sunday, in the center of the town, and you can only reach it by foot. Unmissable.
