It is a fun tradition to celebrate new garlic on May 1st!

A little history on the origin of May 1st! This non-working and paid day since 1947 has its origins in the demonstrations of American employees who demanded an 1886-hour working day in 8.

Also, during this public holiday, many associations organize snacks in our villages around Brive. And these snacks feature garlic and new onion.

One of the best-known examples is the new garlic festival in Larche which offers the traditional snack offered to all accompanied by rillettes and fromage blanc in the morning followed by a giant garage sale which has brought together crowds for several years.

We suggest you put together your May 1st snack at home!
