Argentat to the rhythm of the Dordogne
We are immediately immersed, the Dordogne is the lungs of this territory. From its source, a gigantic staircase of five dams finally leads to the valley, classified by UNESCO as a “World Biosphere Reserve”! For its part, Argentat has its own 40-hectare biodiversity reserve, located on the Gravières site. The city is also “Capital of fly fishing”.
The quays, true movie set, run alongside the old ferrymen's port. In summer, an actor, standing on a barge, tells the story of the life of bargemen. We still remember the salmon which came up the river as far as Argentat and which made it the daily dish in every fishermen's house. Still thanks to the river, the Pays d'Argentat has the highest concentration of campsites in the Corrèze Dordogne Valley.

Argentat is approximately 40 km from Brive, 30 km from Tulle and 50 km from Aurillac. It takes a little over 40 minutes to drive from Brive.

Where to fish in Argentat?
Two fishing routes exist in the area. One is dedicated to night carp and is located at the Sablier dam. The other is a “No-Kill” course which involves releasing the fish after catching it.
