Walnut wine is an excellent aperitif very often offered in our favorite restaurants or at our Gaillards. It even has virtues to treat stomach aches. Today we offer you an easy and traditional recipe.

Before tasting this delicious beverage, you will have to be patient: prepared from the end of June to mid-July, it can only be enjoyed 6 months later!

The ingredients for 6 liters of wine:

  • 5 liters of strong red wine
  • 1 liter of marc alcohol
  • 1.3kg of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla stick
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 oranges
  • 20 green walnuts
  • Preparation time : 15 mins
  • Cooking time : 0 mins

Preparation of walnut wine:

  • Cut the green walnuts and oranges into 4 and put them in a large container.
  • Add the sugar, marc alcohol, red wine, spices and mix well.
  • Leave to macerate and rest for 6 months.
  • Bottle and enjoy.

This aperitif should obviously be consumed in moderation!
