Here, some 800 kilometers of paths and trails are available to you. The Grande Randonnée routes 46 and 480, the GRP® (“Grande Randonnée de Pays”) of the Corrèze Causse, the legendary path to Santiago de Compostela, the multiple PR® ("Promenade et Randonnée" which stands for Walking and Hiking) itineraries… You surely have understood, you are spoiled for choice to get off the beaten track and choose your customized hiking route perfectly suited to the age of your children!
The Brive region, is a “contrasting country” with very changing flora from one zone to another of the territory, an ecosystem with very rich fauna and flora! Thus, the landscapes of the Corrèze Causse, Yssandonnais and its multiple puys or that of Le Saillant and Vézère gorges are true objects of contemplation whose deep identity and singularity are easily observed.

Short hiking trails
We give you a selection of short hiking trails of less than 6 km to explore the Brive region with your family, at your own pace. These hiking paths are classified PDIPR and therefore maintained and don't accept motorized vehicles (quad, motorcycle, etc.), ideal for peaceful family walks.
Tour-games
Are your children budding archaeologists, future historians, architects or craftsmen in the making, budding artists or scientists? Our beautiful Gaillard region is full of sites to discover. With our booklets-games, we have something to nourish the body and mind of all curious children! These free “logbooks” allow the whole family to discover local heritage, crafts and know-how in a fun way. They are available right here and in all the offices of thethe Tourist Office (Brive, Turenne…). Such a great way to make your curious children happy!
Geocaching and Randoland
Talking about games, fun and enriching ways to explore our villages, our countryside, Terra Aventura is a (free) smartphone application that offers geocaching circuits. You will also find numerous Randoland sheets with directions to help you find your way and answer all the questions.
Hiking in the Land of Art and History Vézère Salte
Treat yourself to exceptional hikes on this land with its rich heritage! THE Country of Art and History Vézère Slate is a label from the Ministry of Culture and Communication awarded to 47 municipalities in western Corrèze which stand out for the richness of their architectural and natural heritage. Among them, no less than 31 are part of the Brive region territory!
In addition to the program of events offered by this label in order to promote this unique heritage, we invite you to rely on the “heritage signage” present in all of the cities involved and which highlight the remarkable sites and monuments of the region. Among these unmissable activities, we can cite, pell-mell, the medieval village of Donzenac (or “the Key of the South”), the Ardoisières of Travassac or even Allassac (its medieval tower and its orientation table allowing you to visualize the location of this territory, between Massif Central and Aquitaine Basin).
Ideal for shaping the itineraries of your superb walks and short hikes while exploring some on the emblematic places of the region!
