Museums and local know-how

In the heart of the city of Brive, go to our gaillard museums to learn while staying dry. The Labenche Museum of Art and History awaits you to discover the city of Brive as you don't know it! But there is also the Edmond Michelet museum to know everything about resistance and deportation during the Second World War.

A few kilometers away, you can discover many other museums or eco-museums on prehistory, local know-how... Visit the Museums and ecomuseums page.

Epicureans will appreciate visits to distilleries which will introduce you to their ancestral know-how. Denoix Distillery in the city center of Brive or the Louis Roque Distillery in Souillac each have a small museum which traces their history.

Visit a castle or an abbey

Noble families have resided in Corrèze, Lot and Dordogne. Their homes, sometimes richly furnished, are an opportunity to go back in time and discover the history of the region. Discover our castles to visit.

We are also lucky to be a stone's throw away from Aubazine, a beautiful Cistercian abbey. It is even said that Coco Chanel, who lived there, was inspired by the stained glass patterns to create her signature of two intertwined “C”s.

Other religious buildings are worth a detour. We invite you to look through our section sanctuary cities and religious heritage.

Discover caves and chasms

Learn to differentiate between caves and chasms, which are both present in our region. And a little tip: you will be protected from the rain during these visits but not from the cool temperatures. So don't forget the little jacket before going to visit caves and chasms.

Get closer to nature while being sheltered

This mission is far from impossible. You will be able to discover reptiles, freshwater fish and even thousands of insects! See our section: theme and animal parks.

An escape game, a maze, a laser game…..

Very trendy, these activities are practiced in small groups. In Brive and the surrounding area we are lucky to have several spaces dedicated to these activities. The youngest will appreciate the indoor leisure parks where they can have fun whatever the weather. Consult our Indoor activities.
